How Space and Silence Reduce Decision Fatigue

beingwell Season 1 Episode 12

In episode 12 we discuss that most people don't have the space and time in their lives to think through decisions, process change, and allow the mind space.
We discuss how implementing long term practices and in-the-moment techniques can help to calm the mind to make better decisions. We share several variations of our long term practices and how they can reduce decision fatigue by allowing us the space and time to process the thoughts, options, and situations they find ourselves in each week, month, and season.

When we don't have time to process, think, or sit in silence, it is harder to make wise big decisions or quick small decisions. When you don't dedicate time to quiet, silence, journaling, prayer - you end up wasting more time ruminating and stressing over decisions. You will actually save time if you dedicate a short amount time each week to silence or alone time. We discuss different practices that have worked for us and ones that we have been hesitant to try.

And in those moments of chaos or when a lot of decisions need to be made quickly, you need to find ways to break the script, gain perspective, and calm down.
We give 3 simple ways you can break the script of ruminating thoughts in order to gain control over your mind.

At the end of each beingwell episode, they will leave you with a reflection question to help you process how decision fatigue affects your life. This week we want you to ask yourself - What are 3 ways you can incorporate space and silence into your life to give yourself time to process, to make better decisions and to find peace?
